General Type Standard

The Brirish cat is compact, well balanced and powerful, showing good depth of Body, a full broad chest, short strong legs, rounded paws, tail thick at base with rounded Tip. The head is round with a good width between small ears, round cheeks, firm and chin, large round and well opened eyes and a short broad nose. The coat is short and dense. A muscular cat with an alert appearance and in perfect physical condition.

Die Brirische Katze ist kompakt, gut ausgewogen und kraftvoll und zeigt einen guten Körperbau, eine volle breite Brust, kurze kräftige Beine, runde Pfoten, Schwanz dick an der Basis mit abgerundeter Spitze. Der Kopf ist rund mit einem guten abstand zwischen den kleinen Ohren, runden Wangen, gutes Kinn, große, runde und weit offene Augen und einer kurzen, breiten Nase. Das Fell ist kurz und dicht. Eine muskulöse Katze mit einem Imponierendem Aussehen und in perfekter körperlicher Verfassung.

Head – Round face with full cheeks and good breadth of skull with round underlying bone structure. The head should be set on a short thick neck.
Kopf - rundes Gesicht mit vollen Wangen und eine gute Breite des Schädels mit einer runden da runter liegende Knochenstruktur.
Der Kopf sollte auf einem kurzen, dicken Hals sitzen.

Nose – The nose it self should be short, broad and straight. In profile, a  rounded forehead should  lead to a short, straight
with a nose braek which is neither too pronounced nor too shallow.
Nase - Die Nase selbst sollte kurz, breit und gerade sein. Im Profil sollte eine runde Stirn zu einer kurzen, geraden
Nase mit einem leichten breake führen, die weder zu stark ausgeprägt, noch zu flach sein darf.

Chin – A strong, firm and deep chin is essential. The bite MUST be level, the tip of the chin to line up with the tip of the nose in the same vertical plane.
Kinn - Ein starkes, festes und tiefes Kinn ist von wesentlicher Bedeutung. Die Schnautze muss mit der  Spitze des Kinn,
und der Nasenspitze in der gleichen vertikalen Ebene liegen (eine linie bilden).

Ears – Small, rounded at the tips. Set far apart fitting into (without distorting) the rounded contour of the head.
Exterial ear to be well covered with fur, internal furnishings not to be excessive.
Ohren - Klein, an den Spitzen abgerundet. Set weit auseinander gesetzt sie bilden eine abgerundete Kontur des Kopfes.
Das Ohr soll  auch mit Fell bedeckt sein, nicht zu viel.

Eyes – Lage, round and well-opened. Set wide apart with no tendency to Oriental sharpe. No squint.
Augen – Groß, rund und gut geöffnet. Weit auseinander gesetzt, ohne Tendenz zu Orientalisch gestellten Augen. Kein Schielen.

Body – Cobby type with short level back. Low on legs with deep chest. Equally massive across the shoulders and the rump. Medium to large, but not rangy.
Köper - Cobby Typ, gedrungener Körperbau. Kurzen Beinen mit tiefer Brust. Ebenso massiv über die Schultern und der Hüfte.
Mittelgroße bis große, aber nicht zu groß.

Legs and Paws – Short, strong legs. Paws round and firm. Toes carried close, five on each Forefoot (including dew claw) and four on each back foot.
Beine und Pfoten - Kurze, kräftige Beine. Pfoten rund und fest. Fünf Zehe an jedem Vorderpfötchen
(einschließlich Tau Klaue) und vier an jedem hinter Pfötchen.

Tail – Should be thick and of medium length, thicker at the base with rounded tip.
Schwanz - sollte dick und von mittlerer Länge sein, dicker an der Basis mit abgerundeter Spitze.

Coat – Must be short, dense and chisp. A soft and/or overlong and fluffy coat is incorrect
Fell - muss kurz, dicht und chisp sein. Eine weiche und / oder überlanges und flauschiges Fell ist falsch

Self Colors Einfarbig (Solid Colour)

Coat Colour – The Coat is of a single Colour, sound to the roots, with no tabby markings and,
with exception of the Self White BSH, no white hairs anywhere.

Fellfarbe - Das Haar besteht aus einem einzigen Farbeton, von der Wurzeln bis zur spitze,
ohne Tabby oder weißes Haar, mit Ausnahme von BSH  Weiß.

Eye Colour – Copper, orange or deep gold (with the exception of the blue-eyed and odd-eyed white BSH)
Augen Farbe - Kupfer, orange oder tiefes Gold (mit Ausnahme der blauäugigen und odd-eyed  BSH)

Nose Leather and Paw Pads – Appropriate to coat colour.
Nasenspiegel und Fußballen - Passend zur Fellfarbe.

Coat Colour - A mixture of the base colour with red or cream as appropriate eventy intermingled, with both colours clearly defined over
the animal but without any obvious patches of any colour, whit the exception of a short narrow blaze on the face, which is permissible.
Fellfarbe -  Grundfarbe mit rot oder creme vermischt,  beide Farben deutlich über den ganzen Körper des Tiers verteilt,
keine erkennbare Flecken von jeder Farbe, mit der Ausnahme einer kurzen schmalen Blesse im Gesicht (zulässig).

Eye Colour - Copper, orange or deep gold, with no trace of green
Augen Farbe - Kupfer, orange oder tief gold, ohne eine Spur von Grün

Nose Leather and Paw Pads - Pink and/or the colour corresponding with the coat colour.
Nasenspiegel und Fußballen - Pink und / oder die Farb oder entsprechenden  Fellfarbe.
